On Thursday May 7, 2009, members of the West Essex Technical Rescue Team were given a special valor award by the 200 Club of Essex County for their rescue of a West Orange man trapped in a trench cave-in in June of 2008.  The West Essex Technical Rescue team is made up of specially trained firefighters from Cedar Grove, Montclair, North Caldwell, and Roseland Fire Departments.  Pictured here are the firefighters from the Roseland team with their award.  Pictured from L to R:  Firefighter Brian Robertson, Chief Michael Piltzecker, Captain Jordan Blasi, Lieutenant Douglas Yates, Former Chief Kent Yates, Firefighter William Collins, Firefighter/EMT Barry Bachenheimer, and Firefighter Michael LaBrunda.
